John M. Reis, age 67 of Fall River passed away August 12, 2010. He was husband of Alda (Fontes) Reis and son of the late Joao Sousa Reis and Maria Augusta (Viveiros) Reis. Born in Ginetes, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a member of St. Anne’s Church and a member of the Fall River Sports Club. John was a retired construction worker for Da Matteo, VJ Paolino, Capaldi, and Tilcon Gammino Construction for whom he worked for over 35 years. He also did work on the Big Dig Construction Project in Boston and was a member of Laborer’s Union Local 673. John was an avid Benefica Futebal fan and he greatly enjoyed his grandchildren, gardening, playing cards, fishing and traveling.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 children: Scott Reis and wife Kim of Taunton and Janice Reis of Swansea; 2 siblings: Armando Reis and Odilia Macedo both of Fall River; 4 grandchildren: Dylan, Kelan, Reighan and Ashlyn and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. MONDAY at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anne’s Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-9 P.M.
