Methuen, MA – Sr. Alice E. Cassette, 93, formerly known as Sr. Ste. Marie Dolores, daughter of the late Wilfred and Anna (Gouin) Cassette left for her heavenly reward from the Presentation of Mary residence on Thursday, August 12.
Born in Biddeford, Maine on September 23, 1916, she received her early education in Saco, Maine. Sr. Alice entered the Congregation of the Presentation of Mary Sisters at Hudson, NH on August 25, 1941 and pronounced her religious vows on February 2, 1944. A graduate of Rivier College and the University of Maine, Sr. Alice majored in Early Childhood. She was a teacher in Westbrook, Augusta, Lewiston and Biddeford, Maine and in her later years at the Presentation of Mary Kindergarten in Methuen and Lawrence.
Sr. Alice leaves a brother Robert of Saco, sisters Theresa Charland of Biddeford and Lillian Grenier of Arizona, many nieces & nephews,a grandnephew, Jason Cassette and sister-in-law, Pauline Cassette. She was predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Alfred, Paul & Gerard and sisters Emilienne, and Noella.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, August 16 at 2:30 pm in the Presentation of Mary Chapel in Methuen with burial to follow in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery.Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Ste. Claire Residence, 209 Lawrence St., Methuen.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen.
