Harold J. Barrett, 78 a lifelong Medford resident, died Wednesday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
The son of the late James and the late Julia (Murphy) Barrett, Mr Barrett graduated Medford High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 35 years and worked out of “Cambridge A”.
He is survived by his wife:Claire (Gallo) Barrett, Stepsons Samuel and James Gallo, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves 3 sisters: Margaret McGuiness, MaryRita Barrett and Louise Cuddy.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 – 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church, Medford, will be offered at 9 AM with the Rev. James F. Darcy, celebrant.Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
