RAYNHAM - Alfred Machado, 70, a lifelong resident of Raynham, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Aug. 12, 2010.
He was the husband of Gloria J. (Coute) Machado, to whom he was married for 48 years.
Born in Raynham, he was the son of the late Leon O. and Isabel (Nicolo) Machado.
Raised and educated in Raynham, Mr. Machado was a firefighter with the Raynham Fire Department for many years, retiring in 2001.
A licensed plumber, he was a former plumbing inspector and former assistant building inspector for the town of Raynham, and a communicant of St. Ann Church.
Mr. Machado was an avid fisherman and the founder and president of the Rayn-Water Bass Club of Raynham.
In addition to his wife of Raynham, he leaves two sons, Alfred Machado, Jr. and Neil Machado, both of Taunton; a daughter, Melanie Cotter of Carver; three brothers, Joe, Dennis and Leon Machado, two sisters, Mary Alexander and Dell Perry; four grandchildren, Valerie and Tyler Machado and Madison and Matthew Cotter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Tony, Manny, Eddy, Johnny and Raymond Machado, and the late Helen Silvia, Evelyn Paille, and Florence Frates.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Taunton on Monday, Aug. 16th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Ann Church, Raynham at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 15th, from 5 to 8 p.m.
