Alice C. (Bishop) Root, 90 of Franklin died August 10 in her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Melvin J. Root who died in December.
Born in Franklin, April 19, 1920, the daughter of the late Daniel and Alice (Stone) Bishop, Mrs. Root was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Alice along with her husband had operated the Echo Farm in Franklin for many years.
Alice loved to knit and to garden.
She was a lifetime member of the Franklin Federated Church where she was on many committees and groups.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Root and his wife Gwyn of Douglas, Patricia Morse of Franklin, Susan Hehn and her husband Robert of Franklin, and Marilyn Cook and her husband Warren of Wrentham.
She is also survived by her sister, Martha Moore of El Paso, Texas and was the sister of the late Dennison Bishop.
She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held on Monday, August 23 in the Franklin Federated Church at 11:00 a.m.
