Methuen, Ma. – Sr. Marie Lefebvre, 90, daughter of the late Leonide and Cesarine (Nadeau) Lefebvre left for her heavenly reward from the Presentation of Mary Residence, on Tuesday August 10.
She was born in Biddeford, Maine, December 28, 1919. She received her education at Saint-Andre School in Biddeford, Maine. Later, she obtained her Bachelor Degree in Music at Rivier Collrgr in Nashua, NH.
Sr. Marie Lefebvre entered the Novitiate of the Presentation of Mary Sisters in Saint-Hyacinthe, Qc, Canada, on July 26, 1939, where she pronounced her religious vows taking the name of Sister Ste Therese-Martin. During her 71 years as a religious sister, she served her Congregation and the Church as an elementary teacher in various schools of Maine and Massachusetts. Most of all, she dedicated her time teaching piano lessons to many children, the joy of her life.Sister Marie leaves 4 sisters, Sr. Therese Lefebvre, pm, Mrs. Lucille Bonsaint, Mrs. Gertrude Soucy and Sr. Celine Lefebvre; 3 brothers Albert, Andre and Bernard. She also leaves many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Presentation of Mary Chapel in Methuen with burial to follow in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Ste Claire Residence 209 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
