Thomas P. “Skip” Sullivan, 63, passed away a home in Medford on August 9th, 2010. He was born in Somerville on September 25th, 1946 to his parents John J. and Alice (Bruen) Sullivan. Tom was raised in Somerville and is a graduate of North Cambridge Catholic High School. He has been a resident of Medford for the past 38 years. During the Vietnam War, he served his country honorably as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Tom worked as a Postal Supervisor at the South Postal Annex in South Boston where was employed for 30 years. He also worked for Grava Chrysler Plymouth in Medford for a short time after his retirement. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans and is also a member of the Order of Purple Hearts. He is survived by his wife Shirley A. (Hawkins) Sullivan; by his children, Thomas P. Sullivan Jr. and his wife Dawn of Tewksbury, Amanda M. Sullivan and her spouse Kevin Lyon of Melrose and Erin E. Sullivan-Carrasquillo and her husband Angel of Medford; by his sister Doris Ryan of Belmont and by his brother Michael J. Sullivan of Essex Junction, VT. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his sister Geraldine Sullivan. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday August 13th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Raphael Church in Medford at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday August 12th from 4-8 PM.
