Maurice J. "Moe" Santiago, 38, of New Bedford died November 19, 2003 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was the husband of Michelle C. (Babineau) Santiago, son of John M. Santiago of Tiverton, RI, and the late Madonna (Adriano) Santiago, and stepson of Martha (Brewster) Santiago of Tiverton
Mr. Santiago was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of of St. John the Baptist Church.
Mr. Santiago was the proprietor of Jay's Auto Sales in New Bedford.
He enjoyed working out at the gym and riding his Harley Davidson. He had a heart of gold and was loved by many.
Survivors include his wife; his father and stepmother; 2 sons, John M. Santiago of Westport and Jason M. Santiago of New Bedford; a brother, Todd J. Santiago of New Bedford; 4 sisters, Susan A. Sylvia, and her husband Bruce, Roxanne F. Martin, Robin J. Santiago and Dawn M. Santiago, all of New Bedford; a stepbrother, Michael Reuter of Pennsylvania; 5 nieces; 2 nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Jon J. Santiago and grandson of the late Manuel and Hilda (Martin) Adriano and Maurice and Mary (Valles) Santiago.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, Monday, November 24th at 10 AM, with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Saturday, November 22nd from 4-8 PM, and Sunday, November 23rd from 4-8 PM.
