Obituary

DUDLEY – Stanley J. Szeredy, age 86, of 23 West Street, died Tuesday, November 18 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester

He leaves his wife of 15 years, Sylvia (Plaszeski) Lewis Szeredy; a son, Donald J. Szeredy of Webster; 3 stepsons, James Lewis of South Windsor, Connecticut, Robert Lewis of Dallas, Goergia and Michael Lewis of Webster; a stepdaughter, Catherine Frost of Denver, Colorado; 3 step grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis of Chicago, Illinois, Tracy Lewis of South Windsor, Connecticut, Haley Lewis of Dallas, Georgia and many nephews and nieces.

He was born in Dudley, son of the late Jacob and Mary (Jarzab) Szeredy. He attended Bartlett High School and took many college courses throughout his life.

Mr. Szeredy was a Navy veteran of WWII.

He was employed as a superintendent at the Coppus Engineering Corp. in Worcester for 30 years, until his retirement in 1979.

He was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and was one of the churches original lectors, serving there for 35 years. He was a member of the Polish American Veterans, and the Polish National Alliance. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer. A memorial Mass will be held Monday, November 24, at 11:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. There are no calling hours. Burial is private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
