Virginia C. (Johnson) Brennan, 84 of Medway died August 9 in her home following a long illness; she was the wife of the late Alfred “Al” J. Brennan Sr. who died in 2000.
Born in Milford, May 23, 1926, the daughter of the late Harry T. and Allevinia (Benson) Johnson, Mrs. Brennan was a lifelong Medway resident.
She was a 1944 graduate of Medway High School and also a graduate of the Burdette School of Business.
Mrs. Brennan had been a secretary in the Town of Medway Assessor’s Office for many years before retiring and she previously worked for the town of Medway Board of Selectmen.
Mrs. Brennan had been a member of the Catholic Daughters of America – Court St. Joseph.
She enjoyed playing bridge, baking, antiquing, going to the beaches on Cape Cod and playing horseshoes with her sisters.
She is survived by her children, Kevin J. Brennan of Medway, Kenneth E. Brennan of Wrentham, Alfred J. Brennan, Jr. of Port Orange, Florida and Virginia A. Hinckley and Sandra M. Panechelli both of Medway.
She is also survived by her siblings, Frances LeMay, George Johnson, Harry T. “Buzz” Johnson, Marjorie Rice and Theodore Johnson, all of Medway.
She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 13 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
