Beverly: Richard P. Charette, age 75 of Beverly, died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Beverly Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Nora A. (Sullivan) with whom he shared 50 years of blessed marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Philippe T. Charette and Alice M. (Sirois) Charette Psaris. A graduate of Salem High, he received his degree from Northeastern University. Richard served from 1954 through 1959 with the Army during the Korean Conflict, serving some of that time in Japan. For most of his career he worked in industrial manufacturing for several companies. He also worked as an independent consultant in the same field. Richard had a passion for hunting, boating and the outdoors. He was a member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club as well as the Palmer Cove Yacht Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard L. Charette and his fiancée,
Lisa DeMichele of Danville, NH, Andre P. Charette and his fiancée, Becky Byors of Maine, three daughters, Michelle D. Sirois and her husband Raymond of Harrison, ME, Jacqueline M. Mahan and her husband Steven of Beverly, Nicole L. Kelsey and her husband Jarman of Salem, NH, a brother, Donald T. Charette and his wife Joanne of Port Charlotte, FL, as well as well as the proud grandfather of many grandchildren, and the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Peter M. and Philip M. Charette.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. His funeral service will be private.
