Geneva McMillan Griffin, 87, of Alapaha, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Alapaha with Father Alfonzo Gutierrez, Father Lawrence Lucree and Deacon J. Brian Bergeron officiating. Interment will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Berrien County. A Rosary Service will be held at 6 P.M. Tuesday with visitation from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Griffin was born December 13, 1922 in Berrien County to the late Thomas Henry and Lillian Jacobs McMillan. She was a homemaker who lived in Berrien County all of her life, graduating from Alapaha High School. Mrs. Griffin was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Gene Edison & Mary Ann Griffin of Knoxville, TN, John Wayne & Cindy Griffin of Bonifay, FL, Charles Daniel & Rebecca Griffin of Milledgeville and James Thomas & Kathy Griffin of Alapaha; daughters and sons-in-law: Carolyn Griffin Purvis of Alapaha and Mary Ann G.and Donald Woody of Nashville; 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law: Marilyn & Johnny Ferris of Orlando, FL; brother; Melvin McMillan of Orlando, FL. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Griffin, sister, Nettie Clare McMillan and a brother, Aaron McMillan.
