HAVERHILL: Mary J. “Jeanette” D’Orlando, 77, died Friday, August 6, 2010 in the Penacook Place Nursing Home in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill on September 15, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (DiTomasso) D’Orlando. She was a lifelong resident of Haverhill. Jeanette attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School class of 1951. She was employed at Lucent Technologies in North Andover for twenty years until her retirement in 1994.
Jeanette was a communicant of All Saints Parish. A member of the former St. George’s Parish and the St. George’s Catholic Women’s Club, she served as the CYO Adult Advisor and as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member and past president of the Red Hat Society.
Jeanette’s family would like to thank all of the staff at Penacook Place as well as her friends, for all their support and friendship over the years.
She is survived by her two sisters and brothers-in-law, Severia and Frank Pace and Patricia and James Dupré all of Haverhill, three nieces, Georgia Pace, Jennifer Dupré both of Haverhill and Michelle Lambert of Salem, two nephews, Patrick Clay and Clint Clay and his wife, Bonnie all of Haverhill, three great-nieces, Leah Zapsalis of Haverhill, Shellena and Kaylee Lambert both of Salem, two great-nephews, Clint Clay, Jr. and Kyle Clay both of Haverhill. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Josephine M. D’Orlando and Rose M. Clay.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in the All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday in Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill from 5 - 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Penacook Place 150 Water Street, Haverhill, MA. 01830.Interment will be held in the St. Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill.
