Michael J. Spinelli Sr.

HUDSON, NH - Michael J. Spinelli Sr., age 75, died Monday, August 2, at home in Hudson, NH, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor May (Peuschel) Spinelli, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past September. He was born in Everett, MA, July 31, 1935, a son of the late, Bartolo and Mary (Assunta) Spinelli. He was raised in Everett and Revere before entering the United States Marine Corp in 1953.
Mike and Ellie raised their family in Tewksbury, MA. He owned and operated Spinelli's Texaco Station in Wilmington, MA with his brother Sal Spinelli. He moved to Hudson, NH in 1984. He owned several other businesses over the years including the Beef & Bagel Deli in Hudson, NH.
Mike was a member of St. William's Mens Club in Tewksbury, MA. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, camping at the Mic Mac Campground in Union, ME, and cooking.
Besides his wife, Eleanor Spinelli, he is survived by his son; Michael J. Spinelli Jr. of Hudson, NH, three daughters; Susan Olson and her husband John of Sandown, NH, Diane McGloughlin and her husband Dave of Littleton, MA, and Carol Ciampa of Plaistow, NH, a brother; Salvatore Spinelli of Aurora, TX, a sister; Josephine Stornaiuolo of East Boston, MA, twelve grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his brother Biaggio 'Sonny" Spinelli, and sisters; Grace Johnson and Rosemary Beattie.
His Memorial Service will be held Friday August 13 at 5:00 p.m. at the U.S. Bunting and Crickett Club, 449 Boylston Street, Lowell, MA. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Joseph Oncology Center, 172 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
