Fawzi Michael Gerges, 11, of Medway, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after complications of drowning on Friday, July 30 at Beaver Pond in Franklin. He was the beloved son of Issam F. and Lisa A. (Gagne) Gerges of Medway.
Born in Norwood on March 3, 1999, Fawzi was a resident of Medway for the past 5 years and formerly resided in Norwood. He had just completed 4th grade at Burke Memorial School in Medway.
Fawzi loved playing video games on his X-Box and enjoyed playing basketball, bike riding and loved to swim.
Besides his parents, he is survived by; his sister Sophia and his brother Jason, both of Medway and his grandparents, Fawzi and Rada Gerges of Lebanon and Linda and Paul Gagne of Middleboro.
He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Paul and Ann Gagne of Quincy, Thomas and Maura Gagne of Waltham and Michael and Rema Gerges, Ghassan and Dalel Gerges, Walied Gerges and Suad and Joseph Haddad, all of Lebanon. He also survived by many cousins, both here in the states and in Lebanon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, August 9 in the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 55 Emmonsdale Rd. in West Roxbury at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Oakland St. in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 8 from 3 – 8 p.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.
