James E. “Eddie” Hood, 54, of Canton, Georgia, died Wednesday, August 4 in Cordele.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Hood was born December 31, 1955 in Ft. Benning, Georgia to the late Frank W. and Florice Evelyn Rogers Hood. He lived in Canton for the past 4 years from Buford where he lived for 20 years. Mr. Hood was a retired plumber and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his brothers and sister-in-law: Frank “Danny” Hood and David & Terrie Hood, all of Canton; sister and brother-in-law: Denise & Mike Silcox of Cordele; nieces and nephews: Josh, Danielle, Kylie, Maggie, Zach and Travis Hood, Michell (William) Slaven and Kael, Josh and Cara Silcox; great nieces and nephews: Angela, Anthony, Nicole and Aedon Sorge; stepmother: Iona Hood of Wilcox County and Aunt: Opal Herring. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dedra Wilson Hood.
