LEICESTER; Frances X. (Doran) Hennessy 86 of 344 Main St., Cherry Valley, a section of Leicester, died Friday, November 14th at the Hermitage Nursing Home in Worcester after an illness. She was the wife of John A. Hennessy who died in 1981. She leaves five sons; John A. Hennessy of Leicester, Edward F. Hennessy of Oldsmar, Fla., Richard Hennessy of Oakham, Dennis E. Hennessy of Cherry Valley, James M. Hennessy of Oakham, two daughters; Patricia E. Vanasse of Oakham, Eileen A. Hennessy of Cherry Valley, 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Donal J. "Mickey" Hennessy in 1994, a daughter, Kathleen A. Soucie in 2003, a grandson, Michael P. Hennessy in 1989, two sisters; Rose M. and Ellen M. Doran and a brother, Edward F. Doran.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frank & Bridget (Flynn) Doran and lived in Cherry Valley most of her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. Mrs. Hennessy was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was owner/proprietor of Hennessy's Rendezvous in Cherry Valley for 40 years, retiring in 1996. She was a talented seamstress and matriarch of a large extended family which she cherished and nurtured throughout her life. She enjoyed walking, reading, the ocean, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Leicester.
The funeral will be held Monday, November 17th from the MORRISION-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 759 Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shawn A.
