Carol Ann (McColgan) May, 52, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Brockton, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Arbor View Health Care surrounded by her family after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of Carol A. (Ferry) McColgan and the late James E. McColgan. Carol had been employed by various local restaurants while a resident of Brockton and had relocated to Missouri seven years ago. She loved her children and family, and had a special love for her grandson, Danny Lee May, III.
In addition to her mother and grandson, she is survived by a son Danny May, Jr. and his companion Sarah Lauritzen of St. Joseph, MO; a daughter Tracy May and her husband Andrew Vieira of E. Taunton; a sister Jeanne Pickering and her husband Joel of Smithtown, NY; two brothers James E. McColgan, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Brockton and Edward McColgan and his fiancée Debra of Tampa, FL; many nieces and nephews; her former husband Danny Lee May and many wonderful friends. She was the grandmother of the late Gabriel Charles May.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday from 12-1 pm with a prayer service at 1pm.
