Edmund F. MacGillivray, age 58, of Brockton formerly of Dorchester died unexpectedly August 3, 2010 at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital. Edmund was born and raised in Dorchester a son of Sarah (MacLellan) MacGillivray of W. Peabody and the late Malcolm J. MacGillivray. He was a graduate of Don Bosco High School and member of the school hockey team. Edmund had been a resident of Brockton for the past 27 years.
In 2002 Edmund retired as BCLM Manager for Verizon in the Taunton office. He had worked for Verizon for over thirty years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Edmund will be remembered as an easy going, fun loving and giving man with a heart of gold who cherished his time spent with his children and grandchildren. In his free time he enjoyed playing hockey, bowling, pool and darts.
Edmund was the loving father of Derek MacGillivray and his companion Giordahna Ventosi of Brockton, Brenda MacGillivray and her companion Ray Vargas of Taunton and Kristine MacGillivray and her companion Terrance Morrant of Brockton; grandfather of four. Devoted brother of John MacGillivray and his wife Jean of Sharon, Elizabeth Howe and her husband Richard of Amesbury, Daniel MacGillivray and his wife Lisa of W. Peabody and Paul MacGillivray and his wife Kristine of Weymouth. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish, Brockton at 9am. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8pm.
