Herman C. Schramm, 83, passed away on July 29, 2010 at Pendleton Rehab Center in Mystic. Herman was born on April 22, 1927, the son of Gertrude and Dewey Schramm of Old Mystic. He served in the Navy during World War II and was awarded the American Theater Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He is survived by a sister, Christine E. Hinman of Ledyard and a friend, David Wydler and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by companion and friend Evelyn Wydler and sisters and brothers Anna Thompson, Margaret Collins, Dewey Schramm, Elsie Christie, Richard Schramm, Ruth Trevena, Helen Davis and Robert Schramm.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Lambtown Cemetery, Lambtown Road, Ledyard. There are no visiting hours.
