James Allen Mobley, 68, of Tifton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. J. W. Dukes, III will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Daniel Mobley, Buck James Gray, Michael Shane Gray, Johna Griggs, Janice Mobley, Tabitha Gray, Devae Richardson and Ryan Lupo will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Harris, Jessie Harris, Grady Bennett, Dennis McFarlin, Kenny Whitehead, Russell Warren, Dewayne Harris and Wayne Harris. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Mobley was born on April 22, 1942 in Baxley and was the son of Allen Everitt Mobley and Laura Mae Goodwin Mobley, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mildred Harris Mobley; and one brother, Herman Allen Mobley. He worked many years with Dixie Oil Company and J. P. Stephens and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Mobley is survived by one son, James Kenneth Mobley of Tifton; one daughter, RitaKay Mobley Gray of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifton and Songhi Mobley of Hinesville and Eddie and Joan Mobley of Brunswick; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Dennis McFarlin of Jacksonville, Florida, Oveida and Grady Bennett of Jacksonville, Florida, Patricia and Kenneth Futch of Brunswick and Marilyn and Bill Floyd of Brunswick; seven grandchildren, Daniel Mobley, Janice Mobley, Buck Gray, Michael Gray, Tabitha Gray, Savanah Mobley and Stephen Hutchison; five great grandchildren, Jalen Mobley, Naijai Mobley, Michael Mobley, Cayden Mobley and J. D. Mobley; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
