Joseph Allen Rezendes of Duxbury formerly of Plymouth, died peacefully at home on July 30th at the age of 93. He is survived by his daughter Janice Scoppettuolo of Pembroke, his brother Edward A. Rezendes of Kingston, his sister Bella Hokinson of Plymouth and his 2 granddaughters Alyssa Ann Scoppettuolo and Lindsey Irving. He also leaves his good friend Marguerite Costa of Carver. Predeceased by his wife Gladys (Roberts), his 2 sons Philip James and Paul Allen and his 2 brothers William and Alfred. Born and raised in Plymouth, he has lived in Duxbury for 20 years. After retiring from John Hancock Life Insurance where he worked as agent for 15 years, he worked at the Hatherly Golf Course in North Scituate in their maintenance department. Joseph served in the U.S Army during WWII in the 6th Armored Division under General Patton. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed golfing, reading and especially spending time with his family. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd at St. Mary’s Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 2nd from 6 to 8 PM at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth. Burial will be held at a later date.
