Michael J. Leary, a lifelong resident of Melrose, died unexpectedly at his home in Melrose on Thursday, July 29, 2010. He was 55 years old.
Mike was born in Melrose on September 28, 1954 to Joseph A. and Jewell F. (Booth) Leary. He grew up in Melrose where he attended Melrose Public Schools and graduated from Melrose High School in 1972. Mike worked as a Parts Manager for Crown Lift Trucks for over 25 years and retired a few years ago. Mike was an avid sports fan for all Boston sports teams.
Mike is the devoted father of Cindy Leary of Lynnfield and Michael C. Leary of Saugus. He is the loving Grandpa to Savannah. He is the loving son of retired Melrose Police Officer Joseph A. Leary and Jewell F. (Booth) Leary of Melrose. He is the beloved brother of Janis Mastrorillo and her husband Roger of Melrose and Stephen Leary of Wakefield. Mike is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mike's Funeral on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 8 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle and Herbert Streets, Melrose at 9 a.m. Cremation will take place following the Funeral Mass. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m.
