Mary T. Gordon, 88, passed away at home in Medford on July 30th, 2010. She was born in Somerville on December 5th, 1921 to her parents Christopher and Hannah (Sullivan) Lombard. Mary was raised and educated in Somerville, graduating from Somerville High School, Class of 1939. She has been a resident of Medford since 1954. As a young adult she worked as a secretary at the First National Stores Warehouse in Somerville. Later in life, after her children were raised, Mary worked as a Social Worker for the City of Medford for 15 years. She was very active at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Medford where she was a member of the Mother’s Club and the Senior Social Club. Mary was also an avid bowler who helped organize the School bowling league at St. Francis of Assisi School. She is survived by her children; William J. Gordon and his wife Janis of Burlington, Maureen A. Mata and her husband Carl of Wakefield, Francis C. Gordon and his wife Anne-Marie of Winchester and Patricia M. Gordon of Medford and her partner Dennis Skerry of Woburn; by her grandchildren; Matthew, Andrew, Joseph, William C., Kelly, Angela, Christopher, Jeffrey and Brian; and by her great grandchildren James and Julia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Charles J. Gordon; by her siblings; Christopher, Hilliard, James and Mae Lombard and Alice Mahoney; and by her life-long friend Rose Langone. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday August 3rd at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday August 2nd from 4-8 PM.
