Francis R. Burke, 71, of 16 King Street Ext. died Friday, July 30th in his home after a long illness.
He is pre-deceased by his wife the late Beverly J. (Dickieson) Burke. He leaves three daughters CPT. Linda M. Landis-Cole US Army/AN and her husband Robert of New Mexico, Nadine C. Doyle of Deltona, FL, Carolyn M. Burke with whom he lived, a brother James Burke of Webster, two sisters Patricia Sweeney of Auburn, Carol Nault of Worcester, nine grandchildren Danielle, Bradley, Stephanie, Andrew, Jonathan, Brett, Katrina, Alyson & Ashlee, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by a son the late Raymond Burke.
Mr. Burke was born in Worcester, son of the late John and Viola (Lacey) Burke. He was a machinist at Wyman Gordon Co. for 32 years retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union and the English Social Club. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He loved his two dogs Buttons & King and his cat Steven.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 11:00 AM in MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
