Obituary

Marion (Austin) Gray, a 10 year resident of Somerville and former longtime resident of Charlestown, died on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.

Marion was born in Boston to the late Edward A. and Margaret (Lent) Austin. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools. Marion was a member of The First Baptist Church of Charlestown and later joined the First Baptist Church in Melrose and then transferred to The First Congregational Church in Melrose.

Marion is the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Gray. She is the beloved sister of Ralph H. Austin of Malden, Janet McCarthy of Charlestown and the late Margaret Turner, Ruth Austin, Edward, Robert and Joseph Austin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Marion on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. in The First Congregational Church, 121 West Foster St. Melrose.
