Sanbornton---Stephen S. Haselton, 65, of 85 Hermit Woods Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, July 22, 2010.
Steve was born September 6, 1944 in Gardner, Mass., the son of Richard and Marjorie (Kenney) Haselton. He was raised in North Reading, Mass. and served in the U. S. Air Force during Vietnam.
Steve lived in Boston before moving to Sanbornton in 1972. He was the former owner of the Charles River Art Center and taught art to disabled children. He was a self-employed contractor for thirty years and restored the Library and Law School at both Harvard University and Yale University. He had been employed at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH for thirteen years.
Steve was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Erik, Matthew and Laura Maltais and Justin, Benjamin and Savannah Householder, and loved his family and friends. He loved people unconditionally. He was a lover of golf, boating and had an amazing sense of humor; he always had a joke to go with a story. He was an artist in all he did, nature and building.
Steve is survived by his wife of forty years, Lois (Barnes) Haselton, of Sanbornton; three daughters, Karen Householder of Knoxville, Tenn., Brooke Haselton of Los Angeles, Calif. and Ashley Maltais of Sanbornton; his grandchildren; a sister, Meredith McKeague, of Byfield, Mass. and four nephews. He was predeceased by both his parents.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Reception will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 5:30PM to 7:00PM in Sanbornton at the Steele Hill Resort, Hilltop.
