New Bedford –Jose S. Cardoso, age 71 years, died Monday, July 26, 2010 at home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Jose was the father of Neil F. Cardoso and his wife Rosa Maria of Dartmouth, Jeffrey F. Cardoso of Dartmouth, Gloria C. Cutrone and her husband Greg of Acushnet. He was the grandfather of Sabrina Rose Cardoso and Lucas Neil Cardoso. Mr. Cardoso was the brother of Mary Cardoso DeRossett of CA., and the late Antonio Cardoso. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and he was the nephew of the late Elisa Sousa.
Mr. Cardoso was a son of the late Jose A. and Maria da Gloria (Sousa) Cardoso. He born in Faja Grande, Flores, Açores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1966. He was the owner of International Auto Sales.
Mr. Cardoso’s funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Thursday at 9: 30 A.M. . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are 5 - 8 P.M. on Wednesday. Relatives and friends are invited.
