Obituary

Keith H. Gebelein age 86 of Salem, NH, died Saturday at the Haven Health Care in Derry, NH.

He was born in Methuen, MA, grew up and was educated in Lawrence, MA. He was a resident of Salem for over 50 years.

Keith was a retired letter carrier for the Salem, NH Post Office. He had previously worked as a welder for the Portsmouth and Boston Naval Shipyards for 18 years.

He was an accomplished trumpet player and was a member of the Tony Brown Orchestra for 35 years. He played in several area ball rooms including, Weirs Beach, Old Orchard Beach, Rockingham Ball Room, and Canobie Lake Ball Room. He organized the Brauhaus Band, a German band, and played at Oktoberfest on the Mount Washington Boat, and the Oktoberfest in Lawrence every Labor day for several years.

He was a Mason & Past Master of the Spicket Lodge in Salem, NH, member of the Thrice Potentate, member of the Master Lodge of Perfection in Nashua, NH, Past Master of the York Rite Bodies of Lawrence, MA, member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, The Shriners, and the Eastern Star. He enjoyed gardening and making his own wine.

He was predeceased by his wife: Vera (Lall) Gebelein. He was also predeceased by his Brother & Sister: Carl Gebelein & Gertrude Minzner

He is survived by his Daughter:
Dianne & her Husband Daniel Bishop Sr. of East Wakefield, NH

6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 28 at 10:30 AM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 27 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the: Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
