Worcester- Irene B. (Thivierge) Butterworth, 93, of Worcester, died Saturday, Nov. 15, in the Meadows of Leicester.
Her husband, Fred Butterworth, died in 1955. She leaves two sisters, Dorothy Toomey of Rochdale and Shirley Parsons of Unity, NY; her caretaker, Paul S. Salek of Oxford; 3 nephews and 2 nieces. Her son, Robert W. Butterworth, died in 1979. A sister, Marjorie Thivierge, also predeceased her. She was born in Nashua, NH, daughter of Louis and Lillian (McCabe) Thivierge, and lived here most of her life. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School.
Mrs. Butterworth was a self-employed seamstress for many years.She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the funeral home.
