Betty Stover Bailey, 82, of Leesburg (formerly of Fitzgerald) died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Lee County Health Care.
Her funeral service will be 2 PM, Monday at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Tony Haefs and Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Sunday afternoon from 3-5.
Born in Brookhaven, GA Mrs. Bailey grew up in Fairburn and lived in Fitzgerald from 1971 until 2003 when she moved to Leesburg. While living in Fitzgerald, Mrs. Bailey was a longtime employee of the Fitzgerald Herald-Leader and also worked with Worthington, Casper and Stone, CPA. She was of the Baptist faith and will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include 5 children: Sharon Bailey Evans and her husband Steve, Albany, Lea Bailey Johnson and her husband Wayne, Buford, GA, Kelley Ann Bailey, Buford, GA, Tina Bailey Harris and her husband Rhett, South Bend, IN, David Parks Bailey and his wife Blake, Leesburg; 10 grandchildren: Kristen Evans Fowler and her husband Kevin, Anna Beth Evans, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Emery Harris, Bailey Harris, Evan Bailey, Jackson Bailey, Asher Bailey and Mia Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Ruth Stover, husband, Virgil C. Bailey, brother, James H. Stover, Jr. and her sister, Helen Leveritt.
