Obituary

Joseph L. Moylan, 74 of Sarasota, Florida and formerly of East Walpole died July 21 in Walpole.
Born in Norwood, October 12, 1935, the son of the late John and Hannah (McHugh) Moylan, Mr. Moylan was raised in East Walpole and had lived in Detroit for several years before moving to Sarasota.
Mr. Moylan was a graduate of Walpole High School, class of 1953, where he was a member of the State Championship ice hockey team.
Mr. Moylan went on to Boston College where he graduated in 1957 and was the captain of the hockey team under the legendary coach “Snooks" Kelly.
Mr. Moylan had been a salesman for several book companies in Detroit for many years.
After moving to Sarasota, he became the Assistant Pro. at the Bobby Jones Country Club in Sarasota.
Mr. Moylan loved to play golf and was a member of the Wellness Community of SW Florida in Sarasota where he enjoyed doing yoga and nutrition classes.
He is survived by his children, Susan E. Brennan of Sudbury, Joseph L. Moylan of Aspen, Colorado, Robert J. Moylan of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kathey E. Tripp of Chula Vista, California, Michael G. Moylan of Honolulu, Hawaii and Barbara A. Moylan of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
He is also survived by his sister, Alice Campisano of East Walpole.
He was the brother of the late John, James and Mary Moylan.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Monday, July 26 from the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St. in Walpole at 8:00 a.m followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church in East Walpole at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
