Obituary

SALEM - John W.C. LeBeau, 84, of Salem, husband of Meredith (Pauling) LeBeau, died Sunday evening, July 18, 2010 at the Salem Hospital after being stricken at his home.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late John C. and Margaret (Newman) LeBeau.

John was a WWII veteran and served in the Navy.

Following his military service, Mr. LeBeau began his career with the Naumkeag Trust Company in Salem. He worked in several capacities, including teller, commercial loan officer and branch manager of the South Salem office. He retired in the mid 1980's as an assistant treasurer for Eastern Bank with 50 years of service.

Active in masonic circles, John was a 50 year member of Essex Lodge, AF & AM and the Washington Royal Arch Chapter of the York Rite of Free Masonry, both in Salem.

Wether it be with friend, neighbor or co-worker, he always showed a concern for others. John will be remembered as a kind and compassionate man.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Neila LeBeau of Gloucester, one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Daniel Conley of Santa Rossa, CA, seven grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Elizabeth LeBeau, Maribeth LeBeau and her fiancé Paul Inconiglios and his son Philip, Lynne Sens and her husband Eric, Keira Cremeans, Jesse Cremeans, Christopher Conley, Katherine Conley and a great grandchild, Eleanor LeBeau. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Ducharme.

A Masonic Memorial Service, lead by Rev. Dr. Richard E. Haley, will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
