Mary is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn, (lower church) at 10 AM. Mary G. Harkins, passed away at Woodbriar Nursing Home of Wilmington on Saturday morning following a recent illness, the daughter of the late Catherine (Rooney) and Bernard J. Harkins she was ninety-seven years old.
Born and raised in Woburn she was a graduate of Woburn High School, and worked for many years at F.W. Woolworth in Woburn Square she later worked for the family owned Harkins Taxi Service, after her retirement she enjoyed traveling and being with her family. She was devoted to her family and church and active with the Catholic Daughter´s untill recently.
Surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by two sisters; Ruth Pearson and Louise Dunlea, four brothers; Bernard, Walter, William and Ralph Harkins.
Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Tuesday, November 18, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn, (lower chapel) at 10. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
