GROVELAND: Charlotte A. Guest, 84, passed away on April 1, 2010 in the Boston Medical Center surrounded by her daughters. She was the wife of the late Gordon Guest.
Born in Medford on May 19, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Charlotte (Smith) Leary. She was raised in Winchester with her brother, Ron Leary and went on to attend Wheelock College in Boston earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. Charlotte married Gordon Guest on June 19, 1948. They made their home in Massachusetts where they raised their five children. Charlotte was active in both her church and community. She was a wonderful homemaker and had a passion for quilting. Charlotte loved walking and was an active member of T.O.P.S. for many years. Charlotte and Gordon enjoyed their retirement years in between Scarborough, Maine and Ormond Beach, Florida. After her husband's death in 2008 she moved to Nichols Village in Groveland.
Charlotte is survived by her four daughters, Laurie Marchegiani of North Andover, Gretchen Newberry of Tallahassee, FL, Cynthia Guest of Ormond Beach, FL, and Betsey Guest-Natale of Haverhill, one son, Roger Guest of Rockland, ME, as well as eight grandsons, one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of Charlotte's life on Saturday, June 5th in The Congregational Church of Topsfield at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Charlotte may be made to the, Boston Medical Center, Office of Development, 801 Massachusetts Ave., 1st Floor Boston, MA 02118-2393 (please note in memo: 5 East SICU).
