HAVERHILL: A. Lillian (Morris) Coddaire, 102, formerly of Westland Terrace, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at The Meadows in North Andover. She was the wife of the late Judge John W. Coddaire, Jr. who died in 1989.
Born in South Groveland on July 4, 1907, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann (Murphy) Morris. She had resided in Haverhill for many years.
Mrs. Coddaire was an accomplished vocalist and took part in many musical events in the Haverhill area. She was active in Catholic Charities and served as President of the Guild of the Infant Savior of Catholic Charities. She was also a member of the 1937 Mothers Club, a Girl Scout leader and hospital volunteer.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, M. Katherine and Charles Cronin of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Ann C. and Josiah Morrill of Newburyport, two sons and daughters-in-law, John W., III and Ann Coddaire of Chelmsford and Dr. David M. and Mary Jean Coddaire of Morrisville, Vermont, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in the St. James Parish, Winter St., Haverhill at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill from 9 -10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice. Interment will be held in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
