Obituary

HAVERHILL: Eva M. (Mazalauski) House, 92, of Kennedy Circle, died Friday evening, April 3, 2009 in the Merrimack Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Arnold C. House who died in 1986.
Born in Exeter, New Hampshire on May 24, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Eva (Vitkoska) Mazalauski. She has resided in Haverhill most of her life.
Eva was employed in the central supply unit of the former Hale Hospital for several years until her retirement. She had also once worked at the former Hartman Shoe Company for several years. Eva was instrumental in the founding of the A. Family Cab Company, where she was affectionately known as "The President".
She was the proud recipient of the Daniel Taffe Achievement Award, given annually to a senior citizen who selfishly gives their time for the benefit of seniors at the Haverhill Citizens Center. She was also an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her four sons, Michael H. House of Brownville, Maine, Dennis C. and his wife, Brenda House of Marlboro, Brian J. House and William and his wife, Linda House all of Haverhill, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Mary Yeskelevitch, Julia Mazalauski and Anna Janulewicz and a brother, Joseph "Moxie" Mazalauski.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in the St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Avenue, Haverhill at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill from 4 - 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Haverhill Citizen Center, 10 Welcome St., Haverhill, MA 01830. Interment will be held in the St. Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill.
