Ernest L. Chase, age 66, lost a courageous battle with cancer, Friday, March 13, 2009. He was surrounded by family and had a peaceful passing. He is predeceased by his parents Esther (Bonnell) and Rosario DeGloria Sr.
He was born in Haverhill on August 24. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, he was employed by the Merrimack Valley Transit Authority for 38 years. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union Local #251.
He leaves 3 sisters, Joanne George, Mary Sarfde, and Dorothy Gabryjelski, and one brother, Rosario DeGloria Jr., as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his "granddaughter" Christal Pond.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced by the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill. There are no visiting hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
