Lorraine F. (Connolly) Blasi, age 78, died Saturday evening, January 31, 2009 in the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Louis T. Blasi, who died in 1995.
Born in Haverhill on August 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah W. and Sadie M. (Kennedy) Connolly. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School.
Lorraine was employed as a laboratory technician at the former AT&T in Andover for over thirty years before her retirement in 1992. She was a member of AT&T's Pioneers Association. In retirement she continued to work as an ombudsman, servicing local nursing home facilities. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and knitting.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda F. and John C. Miller of Methuen, a son and daughter-in-law, Louis T. Blasi of Newburyport and Lisa Blasi of Haverhill, four grandchildren, Lori Ann Miller of Hanover, Scott Miller of Lowell, and Sarah and Aiden Blasi, both of Haverhill, two sisters, Evelyn and her husband Charles Trakia of Haverhill and Christine and her husband Jack Coughlin of New York, a brother, Jerry Connolly of New Hampshire, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services will be privately held in the St. Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill, at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
