Obituary

Charles D. Cring, 81, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 2PM, Saturday, July 31 at Pine Level United Methodist Church with Rev. Annette Brooks, Howard Bishop and Rev. Don Woeltjen officiating.

Mr. Cring was born August 21, 1928 in Dade County, Florida to the late William H. and Goldie Volkmar Cring. He was a graduate of Edison High School in Miami and lived in Fitzgerald for the past 30 years. Mr. Cring built and repaired furniture and worked for his father at W.H. Cring & Sons in Miami, Florida building cabinets. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Cring was a member and sang in the choir at Pine Level United Methodist Church. He was an avid wood worker and was caretaker at Ashton School.

He is survived by his wife: Ann Cring of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law: Brad & Jessica Cring of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Alex Hitt, Kenlea Davis and Bradley K. Cring, Jr., all of Fitzgerald; sisters and brother-in-law: Betty Moore, Shirley & William Clark and Elouise Bunker, all of Miami, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Glen Cring, 2 brothers, Bill Cring and Bob Cring and a sister, Pearl Thompkins.
