Obituary

Pauline (Blackwood) Spracklin, age 88 of Bradford, formerly of Malden, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, Haverhill.

Mrs. Spracklin was born in Chapel Hill, NC on January 21, 1920, the daughter of the late Samuel and Belle (Horn) Blackwood. She was raised in Chapel Hill and attended Chapel Hill Schools.

During World War II she joined her fellow Americans and enlisted in the Woman's Army Corps within the ranks of the United States Army. An avid reader, she enjoyed volunteering and spending time with others, especially her family with whom she shared a home most recently in Bradford after moving from Malden where she lived for over 55 years.

She was married for over 20 years to the love of her life, the late Walter E. Spracklin, Sr., who passed away in 1968.

She is survived by her loving son, Walter E. Spracklin, Jr. and his wife Mari T. (Goudreault) Whittaker of Bradford; granddaughter, Janine L. Whittaker of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
