Obituary

Leicester- Eleanor T. (Lavallee) Wheeler, 72, of 2 Dale Ct., Rochdale, died Friday, Nov. 14, in UMass-Memorial Medical Center, University Campus.

Her husband of 34 years, Leo W. Wheeler, died in 1984. She leaves seven children, Frank L. Wheeler of Worcester, Joyce T. Bubon of Charlton, Linda J. Chiras of Rochdale, Robert R. Wheeler of Dudley, Laurie J. Lizotte of North Grafton, Gary M. Wheeler Sr. of Mendon, and Lee D. Wheeler of Worcester; a sister, Theresa Ward of Auburn; 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. A brother, Albert Vallencourt, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Harvey and Lillian (Brier) Lavallee and lived here many years.

Mrs. Wheeler was an assembler at Parker Manufacturing Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1983. After retiring, she was a housekeeper in the residence halls at Worcester State College.

She was a member of St. John’s Parish, Worcester. She enjoyed bowling, puzzle making, and painting ceramics. She enjoyed attending her grandchildrens sporting events and dance recitals. She enjoyed spending her summers in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

The funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 28, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in the funeral home.
