Sue L. (Persico) Liefield, age 97 of Haverhill, died Thursday morning, August 7, 2008 at The Oxford in Haverhill.
Mrs. Liefield was born on August 14, 1910 in New York City, the daughter of the late Antonio and Caroline (Gargiulo) Persico of Italy. She was raised in New York City and attended New York City schools.
She had been a resident of New York City for the majority of her life before moving to Haverhill in 1996. Mrs. Liefield was employed as a Skilled Embroidery Seamstress in the Garment District in New York City.
She was the loving wife of the late Edward J. Liefield, who died December 27, 2004.
She enjoyed traveling and vacationing on Long Island, playing poker with her family, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the care that Sue received from the staff and the employees of The Oxford.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanna P. Brown and her husband Dennis M. of Bradford; grandchildren, Susan E. Trinidad and her husband Jay of Seattle, WA, Christopher Brown and his wife Jill (Taft) of Bradford, and Kelly Fairbrother and her husband Mark of Haverhill; one great-granddaughter, Elena P. Fairbrother; sisters, Elizabeth DeCrescenzo and Mary Billings of New York City; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, August 9, from the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill, at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church of Sacred Hearts Parish, 114 Center Street, South Groveland, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Salem Street, Bradford.
Calling hours will be held Friday in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill, from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
