Comeau, William L., age 60 of Groveland, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
Mr. Comeau was born in Haverhill on December 19, 1947, the son of the late James and Grace (LaPerle) Comeau. He had been a resident of Groveland since 1956 and previously resided in Haverhill. He was educated in Haverhill schools and Pentucket Regional School, Groveland; and was a 1965 graduate of Haverhill Trade School.
He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Vietnam War for two years (1966-1968), receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He began his career as an electrician with his late father, James Comeau, with Comeau Electric Co., Groveland, for over 20 years. For four years until his retirement in 2003 he was employed with C.P. Claire Corp., Wakefield.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy P. (Ladebush) Comeau, of Groveland; his two sons, Peter J. Comeau and his fiancée Jennifer Sapienza of Haverhill and Robert W. Comeau of Haverhill; his granddaughter, Victoria Comeau of Haverhill; his brother, John P. Comeau of Derry, NH; his six sisters, Rose Willey of Conway, NH, Louise Teveault of Gorham, ME, Jeannie Brooks of Dixmont, ME, Irene Lane of Detroit, ME, Terry Kochokian of Mariaville, ME, and Christine Kadish of Meriden, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m. in the C. Frank Linnehan & Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill. Viewing Monday, 4:00-8:00 p.m. Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376.
