Woitkowski, Mary L. (Scoscia), age 93, of West Newbury, died Saturday, February 9, at her residence.
Mrs. Woitkowski was born in Newark, NJ, on November 30, 1914, the daughter of the late Joseph and Cristina (Discepola) Scioscia. She was educated in Newark schools. She had been a resident of West Newbury since 1945 and previously resided in Newark, NJ.
She was the wife of the late Eugene A. "Duffy" Woitowski, who died May 31, 1994. She was a member of St. Ann Parish, West Newbury, and the St. Ann Guild and the St. Ann Rosary Society. As an active and involved member of her parish community she served on the St. Ann programs and parish activities. She had been a former president of the West Newbury PTA and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She and her late husband "Duffy" enjoyed ballroom dancing. The delight of her life was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
She is survived by son, Lawrence E. Woitkowski and his wife Jacqueline of Haverhill; her daughter, Rosemary T. "Duffy" Duford of Amesbury; her five grandchildren, Joseph Woitkowski and his wife Ann of Beverly, Robert Woitkowski and his wife Erin of Haverhill, Jonathan Woitkowski and his wife Audra of Haverhill, Scot Duford of Newburyport, and Shaun Duford and his wife Kimberly of Salisbury; her eight great grandhchildren, Justin, Kylie, Sage, Jeremy, Madison, Peter, Oliver and Nathan; and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Kim Duford.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 15, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Main Street, West Newbury. Interment will follow in Bridge Street Cemetery, West Newbury. At the request of Mrs. Woitkowski there will be no funeral home calling hours. Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
