Stopyra, Marilyn Sue (Mulligan), age 82 of Haverhill died Tuesday evening, February 26, 2008, at home with her loving family.
Mrs. Stopyra was born in Amesbury on October 6, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles P. and Helen M. (Harrison) Mulligan. She graduated from Lawrence High School and attended Boston University, Boston.
Marilyn was a devoted homemaker and mother for her husband and three daughters. When her girls began to attend school she went back to work and was the Executive Secretary to the Public Works Supervisor in Cromwell, CT. She and her husband retired to Haverhill eighteen years ago. She began playing golf and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Ted J. Stopyra of Haverhill, her loving daughters, Susan Hamner of Jacksonville, FL, Sharon Tomaselli and her husband Robert of Methuen, and Shelly Stopyra of Manchester, CT, and one granddaughter, Marilyn Sue Hamner of Jackosnville, FL. The family gives a special thanks to Merrimack Valley Hospice for their devoted health care.
The Funeral will be held Saturday, March 1, at 9:00 a.m. from C. Frank Linnehan & Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 114 Lincoln Avenue, Haverhill. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
