Obituary

Raymond, Lorin M. "Ray", age 78 of Haverhill, died Sunday morning, March 2, at Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.

Mr. Raymond was born in Lowell, MA on Feb. 11, 1930, the son of the late Lorin M. Sr., and Helen Raymond. Ray was raised in and was a longtime resident of Pelham, NH; previously living in North Hampton, NH, Groveland, and, since 2003, residing in Haverhill.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having been drafted in 1950 and serving for two years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ray was the husband of Eleanor M. (Warner) Raymond, whom he has been married to for 32 years. He worked as a truck driver for a Pelham, NH trucking company, as well as worked in construction during the building of the Seabrook Station Nuclear Power Plant, Seabrook, NH; and worked for seven years as a custodian for Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, NH until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Raymond was an avid gardener and was passionate about his lawn and flowers. He and Eleanor enjoyed RV'ing together throughout the White Mountains and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor M. (Warner) Raymond, of Haverhill; daughter, Charlene Kelley, of Wilton, ME; stepchildren and their spouses, Robert and Colleen Brandolini of Haverhill, Dennis Brandolini of Haverhill, Thomas Brandolini and Suzanne of East Kingston, NH, Trina and William Pillsbury of Haverhill, and Lori and Earle Nichols of Haverhill; brother, Sam Raymond and his wife Lu of Citrus Springs, FL; and eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service with military honors will be celebrated Thursday morning, March 6, at 10:30 a.m. in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill. Relatives and friend invited. Visiting Hours, Thursday morning from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH.
