Baxter, Lorraine A., age 89 of Haverhill, died Saturday morning, March 22, 2008, at Penacook Place, Haverhill.
She was born August 4, 1918, the daughter of the late Charles J. and Louise A. (Jacobs) Baxter. She attended St. James School and St. James High School, Haverhill, and was a 1938 graduate of Rochester High School, Rochester, NH. She had been a resident of Haverhill most of her life.
Miss Baxter was employed by AT&T Co., No. Andover, for 26 years until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of St. James Parish, Haverhill; Ladies Sodality of St. James Parish; Local No. 2321, IBEW; and a longtime member of Bradford Country Club. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed, knitting, sewing, fishing, and photography. She cherished time spent with her family. Lorraine's family would like to thank the staff of Penacook Place for their gracious care that was given to her during her time there.
She is survived by her sister, Louise A. Baxter of Haverhill; loving goddaughter, Hazel M. McGonagle of Haverhill; sister in-law, Germaine Baxter of Rochester, NH; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Sister of the late Everett Baxter. Her
Funeral will be held Tuesday morning, March 25, in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
