Smith, John P., age 61, of Haverhill, died Monday morning, May 26, 2008, at his residence in Haverhill.
Mr. Smith was born in Andover on June 8, 1946, the son of the late John and Doris (Adams) Smith. Having always lived in the Merrimack Valley, he attended public schools, and was graduated from Haverhill High School.
He is a Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the United States Marine Corps. After returning to Haverhill, he worked as a Union Electrician for over 30 years for the Local IBEW No. 501.
He is survived by his son Philip W. Smith of Haverhill and daughter Joy W. Smith of Haverhill; grandchildren, Philip A. Smith and Alicia Griggs, both of Haverhill; siblings Ruth Morris of CA, Nancy Smith of Amherst, MA, and Daniel Smith of WA; and also his special friend and caregiver, Dorothy L. McCusker, of Haverhill.
Funeral services will be held Friday evening, May 30 in the C. Frank Linnehan and Son Haverhill Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill at 7:00 p.m. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Relatives and friends invited.
