Schettino, Anthony L., age 89 of Haverhill, died Tuesday evening, July 22, 2008 at the Lowell Health Care Center, Lowell.
Mr. Schettino was born on September 10, 1918 in White River Junction, VT, the son of the late Italian immigrants Frederick and Accomanda (Lacava) Schettino. Raised in White River Junction, VT, he attended schools in the local school system.
He was the husband of the late Frances M. (Riviezzo) Schettino who passed away several years ago. He is a Veteran of the United States Army, enlisting during World War II and having served throughout the World. He is a Recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds he sustained during battle. Upon being honorably discharged in 1946, he returned to the States and settled in Claremont, NH for many years. He previously resided in Lynn, where he owned a Cobbler shop.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Sandra L. Schettino of Haverhill. One of nine children, he leaves his brother Ralph Schettino of Deland, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 25, graveside in Linwood Cemetery, Mill Street, Haverhill at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
